Polaroid Z2300: The Camera That Prints Pictures

Polaroid Z2300 is a new instant digital camera announced by the U.S. during the CEA Line Show 2012 taking place in New York. The size of the instant digital camera is smaller than the previous Z340, but the main function remains the same: to print the pictures using the built-in printer.

The Polaroid Z2300 is certainly not a product for the purists of photography, as it uses a 10 megapixel sensor and fixed optics, so no zoom, not digital. The peculiarity of the compact camera is represented by the integrated printer based on ZINK technology, which enables you to take pictures, edit them and print them in less than a minute in size 2 × 3 "(approximately 5 × 7.6 cm).

The term means ZINK Zero Ink, and then the printer does not use any ink cartridge. The three colors cyan, yellow and magenta are encapsulated inside special paper ZINK Photo Paper. The printing is done using a thermal process that "grows" the pictures in colors according to the temperature of the crystals in the various layers of paper. The specifications of Polaroid Z2300 also include a 3 inch screen, which lets you see the shots and change the various settings, and an SD memory slot up to 32 GB. The camera can also record video in HD.

The new Polaroid Z2300 also comes with video support, thanks to the SD slot for storing pictures and movies. The device is currently in pre-order at about $ 160, and will be available no earlier than next August.
